Providing weekly art classes in Constitution House in Dundee for people with a drug/alcohol addiction. Started this project about a year ago now, here’s some pictures of what we’ve been up to!
Keeping focused! There will be much more to come…
A bit late at posting this, but what’s new! Commission for Abertay University. For this one, we looked at what Dundee is famous for, Jute, Jam and Journalism… Came up with the idea of a print press, news paper flying out, and my piece in the middle, a reminder of another strong point of Dundee and Abertay, computer games / graphics.
Good coverage by BBC News Scotland here!
Graffiti art workshop in Peterhead! Part of the “Roanheads Public Art Project – Creating a Sense of Place”, an innovative Public Art Project working with the Roanheads Housing Development.
Working alongside Micky and Jason, we ran “brainstorming sessions” with kids and parents from the community and ended up with hundreds of drawings and sketches! That was fun! But now, we had to come up with a design that would, ideally include as much of these drawings as we could and of course, make it work… We had the idea of painting a woman blowing bubbles and within these bubbles, we would have some cloud shapes, patterns and the kids drawings. When it came to painting the wall, the hardest part for me was to try to replicate the kids drawings the way they were, have you ever tried to do this on a wall? It’s pretty tricky! There is also Boddam’s lighthouse in the middle.
It was a really fun project to work on, despite painting in the rain on the last day!!
I know, I’ve been neglecting this blog for a few months now. But as we all say, better late than never!
Here’s a couple of pictures of a private commission for a kids play room and a Bob Marley stencil (for the teenagers room), drawn and hand cut by myself (as all of the stencils I make are!). I did this just before the summer for a lovely family, not far from Dundee, Scotland.
Painted this little board for a “drop in” event in Kirkcaldy a couple of weeks ago to give young people a chance to try out a bit of spray painting… Didn’t realize it would attract so many people! We painted about 40 of these boards between 12 to 7pm, that must be some sort of record?!!!
Here it is! All work created by very talented young people
